Unit 3: reddit
I listened to the podcast, "There was An Attempt." This podcast goes into detail about the relationships between the white Americans and the Native Americans. They talk about how the white settlers were continuously insensitive towards the natives. They would have different, and often offensive depictions for them. For example, there was an ad/poster of a Native American where they were red, which is a clear way for white settlers to categorize them into someone else, into a group of people who aren't like them, but rather inferior. We see this multiple times throughout history, where natives were forced out of their villages, forced to go to 'white'' schools where they were taught to repress their native traditions and cultures, their language and more - they were clearly seen as inferior and unwanted by white settlers. This reminds me about how the US has historically been doing this to not only natives, but to other minority groups as well, like immigrants,...
Great Job!! I like your topic a lot, and your presentation showed the positive and the negative effects of having technology in the classroom. I liked that you used student quotes and gaining their perspective on this topic, as it affects them the most. The sources you used nicely fit in with your argument and I liked your conclusion at the end. I would've loved to see more forms of media in the future such as a video or even more pictures, but overall nice job! -Nicole
ReplyDeleteGreat work! I really appreciated your topic, as I haven't seen it done by other people! I like that you gave both sides of the argument but let your thoughts shine through a bit. I also was not aware of all information, so kudos to you!

DeleteI really liked your topic and presentation. I agree, it is important to not have too much technology in the classroom. Setting boundaries on tech usage can foster a more focused learning environment, encourage face-to-face interaction, and promote critical thinking skills that may be overlooked in a digital-heavy environment. I really liked how you used student complaints to relate to your audience and show your research. Your sources were great and related to your topic well. You did a great job!

I really enjoyed reading your project!! I was also interested in this topic of AI in classrooms so this was fun to read for me. I like how you posed both the positives and negatives, it gives both sides of the argument which can be both informative and helpful for readers. The students views were also a component that I liked because it makes it personable to your audience. Overall great job!!
