U1: Surveys/Polls/Quizzes

https://psychcentral.com/quizzes/personality-quiz#7 To begin, for this assignment I chose an online survey from a website named PsychCentral. The purpose of this quiz was to analyze the type of personality you have based mainly off of your body language and some behaviors. They asked things like where your hands are located when your friends are talking to you, how your legs are seated when you're relaxed, and how you act at social gatherings. When I took this test, I was surprised to see that I got results that said I was the "Lively Center of Attention," which stated that I was constantly the center of attention, and an always lively, amusing and interesting person. Although I associate some of these character traits to myself, I think I am definitely more of a relaxed, laid back person in a social setting. Another thing that was really interesting to me was when I made my siblings take this test. My sister, who is more of a "center of attention" person, got the same score as me. I felt less confident about this online survey, so I made my brother, who has similar character traits as me, take this survey, as well. However, when he took the quiz, he got a lower score than both of us called the "Careful Plodder." This meant that the person was more reserved, and calm compared to everyone else. After my siblings took the quiz, I realized just how inaccurate this all was, because we all got results that were very far fetched than what our personalities actually were. Although there is probably a correlation between personality types and body language, I don't think the questions asked on this quiz were very well thought out or researched.

  1. I really like how you were able to validate the results because you know the users personally. This is a really good analysis and does a great job explaining the quiz, its results, and its accuracy.
